About Asheton Brown

Questions & Answers

Why was it important for you specifically to get involved in The Global Mental Health Movement?

Growing up I always wanted to be a model. But I wanted to be a model with a purpose. Basically young me wanted to be a role model and I wanted to tell my story. Fast forward to right now. This second, I’m literally living my dream in the midst of a hurricane. And that’s really freaking awesome. But that dream came with some nightmares. I overcame most of them and I want others to know they can too. I love my hurricane life and I want to share that love for life with others. I embrace that hurricane and all the nightmares, the trauma, the healing, the cycles we all go through, and the everyday opportunities to learn and evolve. That’s why I’m here. Because I’m living my dream and I want others to know they can, too.

What do you hope The Movement will accomplish?

It’s really hard to say what I want to accomplish because that’s a whole awful lot. I would love to heal the world in one big swoop but then how would we see the stars if there was no dark for them to light the night? My life goal is to turn the world upside down but I can’t do that alone. I need help. Empowering others through my words, is just part of me. I want to meet people where they are and show others that every one is strong. And everyone’s story is valid. Because we all belong. We are all human, #SameHere. We don’t have to do this alone!
