I’ve been getting such incredible reactions from friends I haven’t heard from in years. I had a former teammate on my HS basketball team shoot me a message on FB with some really nice stuff and basically how he had no idea about any of it since I didn’t show it. Haven’t heard from him in over 10 years for sure…and my sister, who I don’t have a relationship with, and haven’t heard from in at least a year or so texted me out of nowhere saying she saw my story as she was scrolling through Facebook. It’s amazing what this has done.
I’m on a vacay right now at the NFL Draft and I shared it with a guy in our Draft group (I’ve been coming here for 18 years, since I was 9)… he said he knew something was up with me when I was younger but he didn’t know I was going through what I was, since I showed up to the draft every year, no matter what. He then shared that his daughter has extreme anxiety and he’s going to share it with her so she can see that she can overcome that.
Just so many examples of how this has connected me with people and also helped others feel comfortable sharing some of their own story. This is really great and thank you so much.”
