10/10/2022 Join Us In Being Part of The ‘World’s Largest Check In’ for World Mental Health Day

I’m a guy who NEVER checked in on my MH. Loved my job…fam…friends…where I was living. That was fool’s gold. We go thru challenging life events that accumulate in our nervous systems over time – ALL of us.

On World Mental Health Day, 2022, we’ve partnered with one of the largest global engineering firms in the world, Jacobs, to run “The World’s Largest Check-In.” We have already seen many thousands use the various tools provided, to “check-in.”

Our contribution was a simplified web version of the “SameHere Scale App,” to be used for free, for a day.

Why do we use this Scale? For mental health to be appropriately and accurately discussed, it must not be thought of as a binary topic: “sick” vs “healthy.”

Mental Health lives on continuum – one that every single person on this planet lives on. Our position on that continuum is most-heavily influenced by the life events we face, and the “shifts” within our nervous system (and our brain-body connections) that occur as a result of those events. The science behind this concept of nervous system shifts representing our overall mental well-being is called Polyvagal, and was developed by a Dr. Steven Porges in the mid ‘90’s. It has been used around the world, ever since – just not consistently, in a form like this continuum model.

We ask on this check-in tool, to select a) A “reason” why you may have chosen that place on the Scale, b) any mind/body sensations you are feeling, c) any mind/body exercises (we call them STARR – Stress & Trauma Active Release & Rewiring) you may be doing to work on your mental health. It’s important we monitor these, daily – just like we monitor or physical health with tools like: thermometers, blood pressure readings, & weight scales.

We will post the web version of the tool in Stories.

If you would like to use a check-in tool like this (for yourself, or as a way to communicate with family and friends)…a tool that helps you track your states of mind over time, like the images on the slides➡️, you can visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for a one week free trial of the “SameHere Scale” App.
