02/19/2023 Kellie Pickler’s Husband Celebrated Career Milestone Before Apparent Suicide

By now, many of you have heard the tragic news that decorated song writer, Kyle Jacobs, husband of Kellie Pickler (the country music star who rose to fame from American Idol & Dancing w the Stars) passed of suicide at the couple’s home.

When you hear things over & over, it’s hard to ignore trends. Did I know Kyle? No. Do I have any idea why this happened & what was going on in his life that may have led to it? No. Here’s the but: we were given a bit of info – revealed in this particular headline, that made me think of a common trend related to declining MH that continues to come up in convos I have, frequently.

Kyle had most notably penned Garth Brooks’ 2007 hit “More Than A Memory” & Tim McGraw’s “Still.”

And in his final IG post shared the DAY BEFORE his suicide, he celebrated a big award: Lee Brice’s “Hey World” becoming certified platinum. In that post he wrote:

“Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together…Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you.”

Why bring this up? Whether it was @rwalk56 saying to me the day he finally “made it” to the NFL was the worst day of his life bc he questioned “Is this it?” or the same thing being shared to me by to @theofleury14 after winning a gold medal for Canada in hockey, @slivingstn saying the same thing after winning a gold for the US in swimming, or Tyler Hamilton saying the same thing after winning the Tour de France…

There seems to be a theme(➡️slide) sometimes the greatest accomplishments rock us – bc if we haven’t done the internal work to heal & thrive, we wonder “is this all there is…I thought I’d be on top of the world once I achieved that, & I’m not.”

Our next podcast to cover this topic will be w a former MLB All-Star who felt the SAME on a private flight on the way to the game, upon his selection. Awards & “things” don’t bring us true joy & contentment. That has to come from within from the introspective work we do. Our podcast from last wk on the Lindsay Clancy case on the last slide (➡️will link to episode in stories). RIP Kyle🙏.
