9/28/18 #SameHere Hero: Matt Cohn

Today’s #SameHere🤙Hero is very appropriate given the College Tour we are currently on: Matt Cohn who is an undergrad at University of Washington.

Matt is the son of a former close colleague & friend of mine from pro sports. We’ve connected a number of times in the past through his pops, & now I am so proud of him that he is feeling so strong, that he’s using his personal experience to help others. Check out not only his story, but the movie he made about his experience w Bipolar One, linked below.

“I’m Matthew Cohn. I’m a 21-yr-old college student at the University of Washington. February 2017 I was diagnosed with Bipolar One Disorder. Following my diagnosis, I was hospitalized 5X for mental health in the next yr+.

When I was at my lowest, I felt so alone. The summer of 2017, I withdrew from school, went home & completely shut myself off.  I didn’t agree w the Bipolar diagnosis originally, but came around to it w time.

It took me a while to realize, you’re never really alone. Today I’m better than I’ve ever been, & proud to share my #SameHere story. Please check out my video about my experience on YouTube, below.”
