Finding a Specific Practice That Works For You

What’s your go-to practice?

.
When I shared abt being drained, yesterday, @beccyhowe responded w a scientific explanation as to what recharge I might be needing.

We talk a lot on this page/community abt STARR practices: stress & trauma active release & rewiring. However, it usually stays surface level – even in the Hero Stories shared: Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, Breathing, etc.

.
That gets us started, but there’s such a vast array of specific practices w/in those practices, that many of us use for go-to self-care & recharge tools.

.
When I first stepped in that room 2 yrs ago to learn breathing practices, I mentioned I was the only man, only one under 40, only one born in this country.  It was me & 8 older women from India.  But I learned a practice that’d change my life – a breathing practice called: Sudarshan Kriya from the organization @artofliving.

.
This pic was taken a number of yrs prior to that experience & while my friend @aschlangman & I were being respectful in a temple in Thailand, we didn’t know what in the world we were doing.  Now, it’s great to be able to say, I do have a go-to practice.

.
I mentioned the one above, but there’s another I go to often, out of the fam of Kundalini Yoga, called the Kirtan Kriya. Love the melody, love how it creates balance btwn the right & left sides of my brain, love how my hands/fingers are involved in a rhythmic pattern so that my whole body feels together/engaged.

.
Heard from @kerribudoff yesterday abt another Kundalini practice she loved. I know my buddy @abbeydrucker has some go-to’s. @chillchief talks abt her practices, daily on her page. So whether I named you or not, beneath the surface of general: yoga, meditation, breathing, what are some of your go-to’s so the rest of us can google them, try them, & continue to build our self-care tool boxes.
